Selena Vitezovic
Biography
Senior research associate at Institute of Archaeology, Belgrade, Serbia. She studied at Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade, where she obtained her BA, MPhil and PhD titles. She defended her PhD thesis, entitled Bone industry in the Early and Middle Neolithic in the central Balkans, in 2011. Her area of expertise includes prehistoric periods in South-eastern Europe, in particular Mesolithic, Neolithic and Eneolithic periods, and prehistoric technology and economy, notably bone industry. She participated in numerous excavations as team member and specialist for bone industry in Serbia, Croatia and Bulgaria, including the sites such as Starčevo, Pavlovac and Bubanj in Serbia, Voden, Mursalevo and Nova Nadezhda in Bulgaria, Vlakno in Croatia, and many more. She published over 30 papers in Serbian and international journals, over 30 chapters in edited volumes, edited five monographs and authored one monograph, entitled Methodology for studying prehistoric bone industries (2016).
