EL UNIVERSO MATERIAL DEL VINO EN LA VALENCIA MEDIEVAL

A partir del estudio de fuentes de archivos, y especialmente de inventarios de bienes y almonedas de la ciudad de Valencia y su entorno de los siglos XIV y XV, en esta intervención se tratarán todos aquellos objetos que los notarios apuntaron en relación con el cultivo y cuidado de las viñas y con la posterior elaboración del vino.

Se tratará así de comprender la cultura material de la producción vinícola en un ámbito donde lo urbano y lo rural se encontraban y donde el vino además se había convertido en una mercancía apreciada, objeto de importación y exportación al mismo tiempo, y en un elemento imprescindible en la sociabilidad establecida en torno a la mesa.

THE MATERIAL UNIVERSE OF WINE IN MEDIEVAL VALENCIA

Based on the study of archival sources, and especially inventories of goods and almonedas of the city of Valencia and its surroundings in the 14th and 15th centuries, this intervention will deal with all those objects that notaries recorded in relation to the cultivation and care of the vineyards and the subsequent production of wine.

The aim is to understand the material culture of wine production in an area where the urban and the rural met and where wine had also become a prized commodity, an object of import and export at the same time, and an essential element in the sociability established around the table.
