Biography
Professor of Prehistoric Archaeology at the Institute for Art History and European Archaeology and member of the Senate of the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, deputyspokesman of the International Max Planck Research School for the Anthropology, Archaeology and History of Eurasia in Halle (Saale). His research focuses mainly on the Archaeology of Cult and Religion, early complex societies, early metallurgy and the cultural history of the 3rd and 2nd millennium BC of Central, Southeastern Europe, and the Aegean. He is coeditor of the Prähistorische Zeitschrift.
