Biography

Vicente Lull is professor in Prehistory at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (Barcelona). Together with Rafael Micó, Roberto Risch and Cristina Rihuete, is part of the Mediterranean Archaeo-Ecology research team, supported as an advanced research project by the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Ministry of Research and Science of Spain. Its main objective is the investigation of the ecological, economic and social dynamics in the Mediterranean during Later Prehistory, between III and I millennium BC. Within this space-time framework, the greatest research intensity has focused on two regions: the Balearic Islands and the Southeast of the Iberian Peninsula. Numerous archaeological excavations and systematic materials analysis programs have been carried out in these geographical areas. Among the sites investigated are: the talayotic settlement of Son Fornés (Mallorca), the pretalayotic burial caves of Es Càrritx, Es Musol and Es Forat de ses Aritges (Menorca), the burial nave of Ses Arenes de Baix (Menorca) , the Argaric sites of Gatas and Fuente Alamo (Almería) and La Bastida, Tira del Lienzo and La Almoloya (Murcia).
